Ingredients

For the salmon

  • 5 oz salmon fillet x6
  • ¾ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • cup fresh basil minced
  • 3 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 teaspoon curry powder
  • teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon pepper

For the tartar sauce

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¾ teaspoon ground mustard
  • teaspoon pepper
  • teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon green onion chopped
  • ¾ teaspoon dried dill

Instructions

Marinade Preparation

  • Grab a mixing bowl and combine all the ingredients necessary for the salmon marinade, including butter, lemon juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, as well as all the seasonings and herbs listed.
  • Transfer the marinade to an airtight container and add the salmon pieces, making sure they're all coated evenly.
  • Let the salmon sit in this marinade in your fridge for at least 30 minutes, flipping the pieces a couple of times during the marinating period.

Tartar Sauce Preparation

  • Combine all the listed ingredients for the homemade Texas Roadhouse tartar sauce in a small bowl.
  • Seal the bowl and let the sauce chill in the fridge until it's time to serve the salmon.

Grilling the Salmon

  • Take the salmon out of the fridge and drain the excess marinade.
  • Lightly grease the grill rack with cooking oil using a paper towel.
  • Preheat the grill to around 450°F before placing the salmon fillets skin-side down onto the rack.
  • Cover the grill and set it to moderate heat to prevent the fish from burning, grilling for about 8-10 minutes.
  • Plate the salmon and drizzle the tartar sauce on top or serve it as a dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

Allow the salmon to absorb the flavors from the marinade for the best results.
