Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • oven
  • Bread knife

Ingredients

  • 16 oz package Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 1 pound leftover turkey meat
  • 1 pound sliced cheese jack and cheddar used here
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce
  • ½ cup salted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Use a bread knife to slice the full sheet of rolls in half and set aside the top half.
  • Fit the rolls into a baking dish. I like to use a 9x13 baking dish. Remove one of the rows from the side of the rolls and reposition it along the top if needed to fit in the pan.
  • Spread dijon across the rolls. Layer next with a single layer of cheese, then a layer of turkey meat, cranberry sauce, and another layer of cheese.
  • Place the top half of the rolls back onto top.
  • Mix garlic salt and poppy seeds into melted butter. Brush the butter mixture over the top of the prepared rolls. Use all of the butter, allowing it to run down and around the sides and in between any cracks in the sandwiches.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, covering the top of the rolls with aluminum foil if they begin to brown before the cheese is melted. When the cheese is melted and gooey, the sandwiches are done!
  • Cut the sandwiches apart and serve immediately.
