Fruits

  • 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries (1 package)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt

Cooking Steps

  • Rinse the cranberries and pick out any that are damaged.
  • In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the cranberries and pinch of salt. Allow the mixture to come back to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and allow the cranberry sauce to cool to room temperature.
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

The sauce can be made up to two weeks ahead of time and will continue to thicken as it cools.
