Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 baguette sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparing the Avocado Mixture

  • Scoop out the avocado flesh and place into a medium-sized bowl.
  • Mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
  • Add minced garlic and finely diced red onion.
  • Incorporate chopped fresh basil.
  • Season with lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (optional).
  • Gently combine all ingredients.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Set aside covered with plastic wrap.

Preparing the Baguette Slices

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if using.
  • Brush baguette slices with olive oil on both sides.
  • Toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Alternatively, toast in a skillet for 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Rub with garlic clove for extra flavor (optional).

Assembling the Avocado Bruschetta

  • Top each toasted baguette slice with avocado mixture.
  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  • Add any optional toppings like cherry tomatoes or feta cheese.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  • Serve immediately.
