Equipment

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 0.5 Tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 0.25 ounces instant or active dry yeast or 2 ¼ teaspoons

Wet Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups warm water about 105°F

Instructions
 

Make dough

  • Place the flour, salt and yeast in a large bowl. Then pour the warm water over top and mix together until combined.
  • Cover with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rise for 2-10 hours or overnight for best results.

Shape

  • Wet your hands and turn the dough onto a floured surface. Gently fold the dough into your preferred shape.
  • Place on parchment paper, dust with flour, and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.

Bake

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F with a baking stone inside.
  • Slide the dough onto the hot stone and add steam by placing hot water or ice cubes in the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Allow to cool on a cooling rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

If the dough is too sticky, add more flour and refrigerate for easier handling. Bread can be stored in a brown bag for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
