Ingredients
  

Alcoholic Ingredients

  • 1 bottle white wine (like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • ¼ cup brandy or rum optional

Fruits

  • 2 medium apples chopped
  • 1 medium pear chopped
  • 1 medium orange thinly sliced

Spices and Garnishes

  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 star anise
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds optional, for garnish
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash all the fruit thoroughly.
  • Core and chop the apples and pear into small cubes, about ½ inch in size.
  • Slice the orange into thin rounds.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a large pitcher or sangria jar, combine the bottle of white wine, apple cider, and brandy or rum (if using).
  • Add the prepared fruit to the liquid mixture: chopped apples, chopped pear, and orange slices.
  • Drop in the cinnamon sticks and add the star anise.
  • Stir the mixture gently to combine all ingredients.
  • Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld.

Serving

  • When ready to serve, stir the sangria mixture.
  • Fill glasses with ice.
  • Pour the sangria over the ice, making sure to include some of the fruit in each glass.
  • If desired, add a splash of sparkling water for some fizz.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds and an extra cinnamon stick, if desired.
  • Serve and enjoy responsibly!
